Service at Upper Canada College

Are you ready to be a ‘man of character’?

UCC in LewaUh, maybe you’re not sure what that means. And that’s just fine. It’s a phrase you’ll hear a lot around here. It just means that, besides wanting you to do well academically, we also want you to be a decent person who does kind deeds and stands up for what’s right — because in an uncertain world, you’ll find that counts for a lot.

Within the IB program, there’s a component called Creativity, Action, Service. Basically, you’ll have opportunities to volunteer here and abroad. Imagine going to Africa and helping set up wireless Internet access at a rural school with no electricity? Or work with monks, teaching English, at a health clinic in Tibet?

Closer to home, you can volunteer with local seniors and food banks. Or work with Horizons, UCC’s student-led tutoring program for inner-city kids. And that’s just the beginning.

Before you know it, you’ll have all these great leadership qualities to last a lifetime. You’ll be a man of character.
