Find your own rhythm
Music is kind of a magical thing. Studies show it develops aspects of your intelligence not accessible any other way. Plus, it’s fun too.
You’ll have the chance to study an orchestral instrument from the woodwind, brass or percussion families. You’ll be encouraged to perform in one of the three concert bands, three jazz ensembles, the string ensemble or the UCC Singers.
Evidence of UCC students’ musical talents can be illustrated with the many regional and national awards they’ve won.
As well, you’ll learn to appreciate Western and non-Western music, both familiar and unfamiliar. You’ll try your hand at composition, using traditional pencil and paper and a computer-assisted process. New this year is a professional-quality recording booth where students can record their compositions in sound-proof comfort.
